Covid-19 Procedures

I want to assure you that we can welcome you and your children back to dancing as safely as possible.

If you have any concerns, please contact me ASAP.

  • You are not permitted to attend lessons if you have or develop any symptoms of Covid-19 including; headache, persistent cough, high temperature or fever, sore throat, loss of taste or smell.
  • I shall be running a one way system for entry and exit. Please maintain social distancing whist waiting and be patient while I organise drop off and pick up. Enter through the main door, exit down the side of the hall.
  • Please wait outside during drop off or pick up. Parents or guardians are no longer permitted to wait inside, so please wait in cars or feel free to bring your own chair and wait in the ‘front garden’ while at Green Lane.
  • Students will be asked to wash their hands with an antibacterial soap on entrance. Please can your child bring their own sanitiser or bring sanitiser to clean your child’s hands after the lesson. I will have one but ask to bring your own to prevent reactions etc.
  • Please come ready for class and, weather permitting, please change shoes before coming in. Please do not wear dance shoes in the street! In poor weather, we will help change shoes inside.
  • PPE equipment may be worn by choice.
  • Children must attend class in full uniform. Please just bring dance shoes and a water bottle into the room, no bags are required. Please avoid bringing in coats and jackets where possible.
  • Dancers will have allocated space to help with social distancing. I am aware of some school bubbles so, depending on class numbers, these bubbles may be used.
  • All windows will be opened to allow for ventilation
  • I have added new risk assessments to comply with Covid-19. Please contact me should you wish to view this.
  • I will sanitise the space between each class.
  • I will limit the equipment that is used in classes and when we do use equipment, it wont be shared.
  • I would advise students to shower after class to prevent spreading infection.
  • Students are expected to adhere to social distancing.
  • Current data held will be used to support track and trace. Please let me know if you do not wish for your data to be used in this way and to opt out.

In the event that a student, family member, myself or Mrs Hampton develops symptoms of Covid-19:

  • The person should get tested straight away in line with government guidance.
  • I will communicate with the rest of the class that someone is being tested.
  • The identity of the individual will be kept confidential.
  • Please stay alert for symptoms but you do not need to shield.
  • Students can continue to come to dance.
  • IMPORTANT: Parents or guardians must not administer Calpol etc. to mask a high temperature.

If the test is positive:

  • The result must be shared with me as students and parents will be informed.
  • All will be advised to stay home following the Government Guidance for 14 days (7 days for infected person, 14 days for their family currently).

If the test is negative:

  • The result must be shared with me and parents or students will be informed.
  • The class stays open.
  • The symptomatic person will only return once symptoms are cleared and they are well enough.
  • There is a requirement that staff or students and their families displaying symptoms of Covid-19 are tested straight away.
  • The test can be booked online at https://self-referral.test-for-coronavirus.service.gov.uk/antigen/name.

I thank you for your co-operation and sensible attitude in this.
