Emily Hampton
A massive welcome to EDA from Miss Emily!

After years of dreaming of opening her own dance school, she can now say that she has. A place to welcome children and young people in, helping them to grow and develop into fantastic people and teaching them life skills through the power of dance.

Miss Emily's passion for dance was ignited when she started at Cambridge School of Dance in New Malden, commonly known as Gladys' at the age of 3. Here she learned the art of Tap, Ballet and Theatre Craft. From this, she started dancing at the Malden Centre where she expanded her repertoire, learning Disco and Street Dance where she met Miss Elaine who led her to the Phillomena Dance School in Banstead, which allowed her to develop her technique and gave her the opportunity to train as a dance teacher.

Miss Emily has extensive experience of teaching a wide range of children. Most of this has evolved from volunteering in GirlGuiding and teaching a variety of ages in dance classes, from teaching the children at Green Lane Nursery, to running classes at The Malden Centre, as well as teaching dance in secondary schools. Alongside this, she has previously worked as a Learning Support Assistant at The Holy Cross School, New Malden and as the manager of a children's holiday club. She has also had the pleasure of working with the wonderful Lucinda at Lucinda Walsh School of Dance, and is still part of the team at the amazing, Phillomena Dance School with the fabulous Miss Lynda Blyth-Phillips, Miss Elaine and Miss Sarah.

Miss Emily takes pride in the progression of the pupils within the dance school, which is particularly evident in the younger classes; seeing them when they come through the doors, just about hopping to leaving the class being able to skip. It's magic!

Miss Emily has completed her AIDTA F, PA Ballet, Level 3 Childcare, Paediatric First Aid and Level 2 Teaching Swimming and Coaching Synchronised Swimming.

Miss Emily looks forward to welcoming you onto the dance floor at EDA.
